The new Ethiopian Prime Minister, Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali, has arrived in the country for a State visit geared towards bolstering the bilateral relations of the two countries.
The plane carrying the Ethiopian Prime Minister and his entourage touched down at Adan Adde International Airport shortly after 9 a.m.
On arrival, the PM was received by officials from Somali government.
Ethiopian Prime Minister will formally be received into the country by his host President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and his counterpart Hassan Ali Kheire at Villa Somalia in Mogadishu.
Bilateral and regional issues will dominate the discussions between Somali leaders and Ethiopian Prime Minister.
The visit of Dr. Ahmed comes less than a month after Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheire made a two-day state visit to Addis Ababa.
Somali and Ethiopia have enjoyed strong bilateral relations.
Late last year Ethiopia released over 100 Somali nationals from its jails following talks between the two countries.
Ethiopia sent hundreds of its troops to Somalia to help the government in the fight against Al-Shabaab before amalgamation with African Union Mission in (AMISOM) troops.
