MOGADISHU ( Halbeeg News) – The government of Ethiopia has announced that it will release a preliminary report into the cause of the ill-fated Ethiopian Airlines.
Boeing 737 MAX 8 plane crashed just minutes after took off from Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, killing 157 passengers on board.
The country’s foreign ministry spokesman Nebiyat Getachew who spoke to Reuters said the report will be released today.
The crash of Ethiopian Airlines flight ET 302 on March 10 killed 157 passengers and crew, the second deadly crash involving a Boeing Co 737 MAX 8 airliner in five months.
As the crash site and black boxes are investigated, the 737 MAX 8 has been grounded worldwide as a precautionary measure and regulators are stepping up action to improve air safety while Boeing is carrying out a software upgrade to the plane’s automated flight control system.
The development comes a week after Ethiopian Airlines crash victim’s family filed a lawsuit against Boeing in the United States.
The suit filed at US federal court lawsuit indicate allegations that the company’s anti-stall system was defectively designed.
Boeing has said the company is bringing all of its resources to bear, “working tirelessly to understand what happened and do everything possible to ensure” a disaster of this calibre “doesn’t happen again.”
Filed in Chicago federal court last week by the family of Jackson Musoni, a citizen of Rwanda who was killed in the Ethiopian Airlines disaster, the suit alleges that Boeing defectively designed the automated flight control system.
