ADDIS ABABA ( HALBEEG NEWS ) – A court in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa has ordered the release of Kenyan journalist Yasin Juma on bail on Wednesday.
He was reportedly working for an Ethiopia opposition leader Jawar Mohamed owned Oromia media when he was arrested last month.
According to sources, the Kenyan foreign affairs ministry negotiated to secure his release.
Another Journalist from opposition linked media, Melese Diribsa, and three other individuals have also been bailed out by the court order.
The Ethiopian Police failed to present pieces of evidence to prove that these suspects committed crimes against the state during the protest that following the murder of singer Hachalu Hundesa according to their defense team.
Tension is still high in the horn of the African nation following the continued protest by the largest ethnic group Oromo that calling for the removal of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed from office.
