MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh said his country is interested in developing cordial relationship with Somalia.
Mr. Saleh and his delegation arrived in Mogadishu on Monday after an official invitation by the Somali government.
On arrival, Mr. Saleh was received by PM Kheire and some of his cabinet members.
Mr. Saleh said his visit was a follow up of what the leaders of the two countries agreed late last month.
He reiterated Eritrea’s willingness to resume diplomatic and economic ties with Somalia.
On his part, PM Kheire stated that the visit of Eritrean Foreign Minister and the previous one by Somalia’s president to Eritrea bear important significance for bilateral relations.
He said Eritrea’s decision to dispatch delegates to Somalia shows that the countries are determined to advance their cooperation.
PM Kheire stressed that a stable Horn of Africa region is important for the development of all countries in the region and that Somalia is ready to take its due role in this regard.
