MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – A delegation from Egyptian Defence Ministry arrived in the Somali capital, Mogadishu on Saturday.
The delegation led by General Wahid Izab Ibrahim met senior Somali officials led by the army chief, General Dahir Elmi Indho Qarshe during a meeting at Defense headquarters in Mogadishu.
The two sides discussed ways to cooperate on military collaboration.
Somali Army chief, General Indho Qarshe thanked the role played by Cairo in helping his country strengthen the capacity of its armed forces.
The arrival of the Cairo delegation comes just days after meeting between President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and his Egyptian counterpart, Abdulfatah Al Sisi in Cairo.
The two leaders discussed security cooperation between the two Arab states.
Several Muslim countries led by Turkey and Qatar provide capacity building for the Somali armed forces.
