ADDIS ABABA (Halbeeg News) – Officials from Djibouti and Ethiopia have today held talks in Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia.
In a statement, Ethiopian Foreign Ministry said Djibouti ambassador, Mohamed Idris Farah had paid a courtesy call on the ministry.
Ambassador held talks with Ethiopian minister for Foreign, Gedu Andargachew over wide ranges issues affecting both sides.
“Ambassador of Republic of Djibouti to Ethiopia and Dean of the East African Group of Ambassadors, H.E. Ambassador Mohammed Idriss Farah paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister H.E. Gedu Andargachew this morning (April 25),” the statement reads in part.
Foreign Minister Gedu expressed his satisfaction over the already strong relations between Ethiopia and the Republic of Djibouti.
The Minister also expressed his country’s continued commitment to advance the efforts of economic integration with Djibouti.
The two sides reiterated their firm commitment to work more closely in the maintenance of peace and stability in the region.
The two sides further dealt at length on ways of elevating the cooperation on bilateral and regional issues to the highest level.
The move comes hours after the Minister took the oath of office.
The oath took in Ethiopian Parliament in the presence of country’s parliament Speaker Tegesse Chaf.
