ADDIS ABABA (Halbeeg News) – Kenyan journalist, Yasin Juma who was arrested in Ethiopia after the death of well-known singer, tested positive for Coronavirus, his lawyer said.
Juma who has been working in Ethiopian in recently months was arrested by Ethiopian security forces along with number journalists and opposition figures.
His lawyer on Thursday said the journalist tested positive for the coronavirus.
Last court in Addis Ababa directed the police to free Juma on bail but he still remains behind the bars for unspecified reason.
His lawyer, Kedir Bullo expressed concern over the health condition of the Journalist saying Juma is suffering in the detention.
He was reportedly working for an Ethiopian opposition leader when he was arrested.
Juma had been arrested following protests over the assassination of popular singer Hachalu Hundessa which led to more than 80 deaths.
Juma was arrested last month and is facing charges including incitement and involvement in violence.
