MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Officials from Somali ministry for Water have today toured Mogadishu Water and Electrical Engineering College.
The college has trained dozens of students on Water and Electrical engineering in recent years.
Osman Libah, Somali deputy minister for Water who was leading the officials has inspected the academy.
The officials held meeting with the authorities of the institution on the progress achieved.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Mr. Osman said the construction of water quality testing laboratory which will be used by the city has been completed.
The minister pledged that government will soon equip the laboratory.
“The ministry is implementing the pledges and manifestos of the President and those of the prime minister on clean and quality waiter,” he said.
Mr. Osman commended IOM and African development bank for their role to refurbish the premises of Mogadishu Water and Electrical Engineering College.
“I appreciate African Development Bank which helped in the rebuilding of the premises, the project was implement by IOM,” he said.
The minister pointed out that Prime Minister Hassan Ali will officially launch the laboratory.
“Soon we will be able to get clean and high-quality water and this will help to stop relying on the laboratories in Nairobi and other towns,” the minister stated.
