GAROWE (Halbeeg News) – The leader of Puntland state in northeastern Somalia, Saed Abdullahi Deni has dismissed police commanders of Nugal, Bari and Bari region as the commander of the presidential guard days after he axed Puntland boss commissioner.
In a statement, Deni has moved Bari police commandant Hussein Ali Mohamud to Bari region in a shake-up which saw several commanders being relieved of duties.
General Abdulkadir Jama Dirir who has been the head of the presidential guard will now become the Bari regional police commandant.
According to the statement, Brigadier-General Omar Abdi Elmi to takes charge as head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), of the Puntland Police Force.
Mohamud Silal Omar was appointed as the Deputy Director of the Puntland Maritime Police Force (PMPF) by sacking Ahmed Yusuf Ahmed who has been serving the office in recent years.

Last week, Deni removed Puntland police boss Hassan Abdi Yare hours after the state police chief held talks with the chairperson of the federal poll agency, Mohamed Hassan Irro.
