GAROWE (Halbeeg News) – Puntland State leader, Saed Abdullahi Deni has issued decree to address concerns of traders and the locals by directing his administration to accept 10% import and export taxes in shillings.
The order also said no transaction of mobile money system would be done with amount less than ten dollars.
The development comes less than 24 hours after violent protests shook Puntland administrative capital.
The protestors including traders and other local people were against the reject of Somali shilling and inflation in the town.
Early this month, Puntland President that ordered his administration not accept import and export taxes in the local currency.
