MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali Prime Minister, Mohamed Hussein Roble has called for the cease fire in central Somali barely a day after Galmudug soldiers clashed with forces loyal to Ahlusunna Waljamaa on the outskirts of Dhusamareeb town.
According to sources, at least seven people from both sides were killed and several others wounded after fierce fighting on Thursday in Bohol village, 20 km north of Dhusamareb town.
In a statement, Roble described renewed conflict in Galmudug as “regrettable.”
Roble backed Galmudug as the full legitimate authority over the state, says any steps aimed at destabilizing Galmudug must be avoided.
“There is administration in Galmudug that has full legitimacy and is responsible for the security of the Galmudug region, so any action that appears to be disrupting governance system in Galmudug should be avoided,” ” The mobilization of armed forces and attacks that threaten stability should be stopped,” Roble said in a statement.
Ahlusunna Waljamaa forces on Friday seized Guriel town after Galmudug state forces withdrew from the town.
