KISMAYU (Halbeeg News) – The Forum of Inter-State council Cooperation is expected to open today in Kismayu, a town which 500km south of Mogadishu.
Leaders from the country’s federal member states have converged on Kismayu to attend a conference hosted by Jubbaland state, the second time since 2017.
The security in Kismayu town has been tightened as hundreds of soldiers were deployed in the town.
The leaders are expected to discuss the interests of Somalia and federal member states.
The Council of Inter-State Cooperation which was formed last year in Kismayo has merged the leaders of the regional states.
