CHRISTCHURCH (Halbeeg News)-The man suspect behind the killings of 49 Muslim worshippers in New Zealand city of Christchurch on Friday has appeared in court.
Twenty-eight years old Australian born, Brenton Tarrant was brought to the court in a white prison shirt and handcuffs to answer charges.
The licensed firearm owner who stood silently during the brief hearing in Christchurch was remanded in custody without a plea and is due to appear in court on 5 April.
Three other suspects are in custody for their involvement in the heinous act of terror that targeted Muslims during Friday congregational prayers that saw another 20 people wounded some with life-threatening injuries.
New Zealand citizens have shown their support and respect to the families of the victims.
Hundreds of people lined up in a makeshift memorial set up on near the two mosques to show their solidarity.
Muslim leaders said the event will not divide them and they will continue serving their nation as responsible citizens.
New Zealand PM, Jacinda Ardern who personally visited the Muslim community to show her respect and vowed to review the gun ownership laws in the island state.
