MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – One of two suspects captured by CCTV while robbing a phone has been arrested after Somali police forces launched operations against a spate of robberies in Somali capital.
Speaking to the media, Police spokesperson Sadiq Adan said the officers also arrested six suspects who allegedly carried out robberies in different parts of the capital.
Adan urged the public to remain vigilant and report such cases to police posts near their areas.
In one case captured on CCTV, two young men are seen entering a phone shop before one of them brandishes a pistol.
The pistol-carrying man was instructing the shopkeeper to lie on the floor while his co-conspirator picks 19 phones including 15 i-Phones from the shelves into a bag.
The shopkeeper is forced to lie on the ground throughout the incident before the two-armed men leave the shop.
