MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News)- A car bomb has exploded at a checkpoint manned by Somali security agencies near the national theatre in Mogadishu on Thursday.
The suspected vehicle laden with Improvised Explosive Device (IED) reportedly went off while undergoing a security check.
According to sources, a nearby petrol station and restaurant have been affected by the blast.
The casualties of the blast are still unclear but paramedics and ambulances are trooping the scene.
Al-Shabaab which previously conducted attacks in the city has claimed the responsibility for the attack.
