NAIROBI ( Halbeeg News) – Somalia and Kenya have agreed to repair diplomatic relations following a dispute over a maritime border on Wednesday that impacted on their bilateral diplomatic ties.
The two neighboring countries decided to reinstate ambassadors back to their missions during a meeting between Kenyan Foreign Affairs minister, Monica Juma and her Somali counterpart, ambassador Ahmed Issa Awad in Nairobi.
Nairobi recalled its ambassador to Mogadishu and ordered Somali envoy back home for consultation following maritime border dispute.
The Somali government has turned down an attempt by Kenya to settle the case out of court.
Hague based International Court of Justice is expected to rule the dispute within this year.
