The governor of Benadir region, Abdirahman Omar Osman has on Sunday suspended the region’s technical director of land and several technicians from the work.
In a statement from the governor office, the officer and the workers were accused of issuing land allocated for roads to individuals.
The governor said in the statement that the suspended officer and his o-workers had issued title deeds of public land to individuals.
”After conducting investigation into the allegations against these individuals, the office of the governor found them guilty and therefore the individuals holding the aforementioned positions were suspended from the work,” the statement reads in part.
The statement also called on residents to refrain from buildings inside public roads and public places.
“The public should verify the security tenure of land before buy it that can avoid loss of property,” the governor urges the public.
After the fall of Somali central government in 1990, the government institutions were looted, public land were used private purpose.
