MOGADISHU (Halbeeg)The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has strongly condemned Al-Shabab’s twin blasts at Somali Interior Ministry in the Somali capital Mogadishu.
Al-Shabaab suicide bombers rammed two cars laden with explosives into the building of the Ministry.
The explosions claimed lives of over 10 people and wounded more than 15 others.
The AU mission said in a statement that the attack on the ministry of interior premises shows that al-Shabab has no regard for the stability and progress of the Horn of Africa nation.
“AMISOM Strongly condemns this morning’s attack on the premises of the Ministry of Interior in Mogadishu. The terrorists prove once again their disregard for the stability and progress of Somalia,” reads the statement.
AMISOM condoled with the families of the bereaved.
“AMISOM wishes the injured a swift recovery and together with the Somali authorities, remains committed to bringing a lasting end to such reprehensible attacks on the peace-loving people of Somalia,” the Mision stated.
