MOGADISHU ( Halbeeg News) – Al-Shabaab spokesman, Sheikh Ali Dhere has been wounded in an operation by Somali National army, SNA Radio has reported on Tuesday.
According to the armed forces radio station, Danab special forces unit conducted a planned operation on 11th August around Sham village near the agricultural town of Afgoye which 30 kilometers-west from the capital, Mogadishu.
15 members of the armed group were killed in the operation while their leader sustained injuries.
The Somali military radio further said al-Shabaab leader, Sheikh Ali Dhere was taken to Kuntuarey for further treatment.
Somali troops have been conducting operations in the area for the past one week but the claims of wounding al-Shabaab spokesman cannot be independently verified.
