DHUSAMAREEB (Halbeeg News) – An Al-Shabaab operative has surrendered to the Somali National Army in the Galgaduud region of central Somalia.
The defector who was identified as Mohamed turned himself over to the Khalid Bin Walid unit of the national army and was received cordially.
His defection joins a rising trend of recent surrenders, likely influenced by the intensified military operations of the national army.
The sustained operations have exerted significant pressure on the militant group, causing considerable setbacks.
