BELED-HAWO (Halbeeg News) – At least three people have been killed in Beled-Hawo town after al-Shabaab fighters raided the town near Somalia’s border with Kenya.
Heavily armed al-Shabaab fighters have reportedly attacked several houses last night.
According to sources, the group removed three people including two district officials and an elder from their homes.
Witnesses say three were executed outside the town.
Beled-Hawo authorities have not yet commented on the murder of the three.
The motive behind the killing of the victims is yet unclear.
Al-Shabaab fighters have previously targeted government officials, military officials, elders and electoral delegates suspected to have participated in elections.
