Heads of Security Agencies from over twelve countries have been convened in Uganda to discuss over armed struggles and terrorism.
The meeting which was opened on Monday in Kampala will run for two days
Speaking to the media in Kampala, Wilson Mbadi, deputy commander of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces said the officials would share information on Terrorism, armed group in the region, cybercrime, money laundering and human trafficking.
He noted that the meeting will also be discussed on means to coordinate and to collaborate in the fight against peace violators in the region.
Joseph Ocwet, Uganda’s director general of External Security Organization who also spoke at the press conference pointed out that the participants would debate on how the terrorists and rebels in the region obtained finance.
The countries attending the meeting include Uganda, Kenya, Mauritius, South Sudan, Sudan, Djibouti,Tanzania, Rwanda, Somalia, Comoros and Madagascar.
