Somali custodial corps on Thursday commemorated its 48th anniversary in Mogadishu.
A well organized ceremony which took place at Maslah base was attended by Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheire, the chief of custodial corps, Bashiir Mohamed Jama’a and other officials from security agencies.
During the event, the Prime Minister inspected a guard of honour mounted by the forces.
After the guard of honour, Mr. Kheire visited newly constructed premises for the custodial corps.
The prime minister commended the forces for their achievements after his tour to the construction.
“There is positive development and optimism here, six months ago this place was a field but today we see this beautiful construction and this is due the cooperation between the public and the government,” said Prime Minister Kheire.
For his part, the new chief of custodial corps extended congratulatory message to the forces.
“I congratulate the commissioners, deputy commissioners and all the custodial corps on the 48th anniversary of the establishment of the forces,” said the chief.
The event comes barely four days after Somali cabinet appointed Bashiir Mohamed as the new chief of the custodial corps.
