MELBOURNE (Halbeeg News)-The teenager at the centre of an egg attack on controversial Australian Senator, Fraser Anning has inspired people to donate more than $25,000 in support of his action.
In a blurb on the page titled Money for EggBoi, Will was labelled as a “hero”.
According to the local media, there are several Go Fund Me pages set up to help Will Connolly, dubbed ‘Eggboy’ online in the wake of yesterday’s attack. One page has raised almost $25,000 in less than 24 hours. Others have raised tallies in the low thousands.
It went on to say Will was committed to sending the majority of the money raised to the victims of the Christchurch terrorist attack.
It is unclear whether Will has been involved in any of the fundraising efforts. It’s not known if the pages are a scam or not.
The pages emerged after the 17-year-old cracked an egg on Senator Anning’s heard as a form of political protest during a far-right rally in Melbourne.
Video footage, in the player above, shows Anning retaliating quickly by striking the teen twice in the face, before his adviser, Boston White, dragged him away.
A number of Anning’s supporters – including convicted criminal Neil Erikson – then grabbed the teen by the throat and threw him to the ground, and held him in a choke hold until police arrived.
