MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News)-The members of the two houses of Somali parliament will convene for a special meeting to take part in an address by the visiting Djibouti President, Ismail Omar Gelle.
The members who are on a recess were informed by the house leadership to convene at General Kahiye police training academy for the presentation by the leader of the neighbouring state.
Both the house of the people and the upper house representatives were invited for the special session on Sunday.
Senior Somali government officials including President Farmajo and PM Kheyre and the delegation of the visiting president are also scheduled to attend the special session in which President Ismail Gelle will address Somali lawmakers.
Djibouti leader arrived in Mogadishu on Saturday to kick off two days’ official state visit.
He will open the new embassy in the capital before heading towards Beledweyne to visit his country’s troops that are part of a peacekeeping operation.
