MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somalia’s federal ministry of education has announced scholarship opportunities for well-performed students in recent national examinations.
Deputy minister for education, Feysal Omar Guled confirmed the news during a meeting with top ten students in the national high school examination in Mogadishu on Monday.
The minister promised to send the students to broad for further education on scholarship chance.
“It is the main responsibility of the ministry of education to improve the quality of the sector in the country and we are committed on the agenda, the minister said.”
On his part, the director of education, Hassan Mohamed Ali reiterated to the students to count on his office to fulfill the promise saying the ministry is excited about the preparedness of the scholars.
Somali federal government through the ministry of education is seeking an increase in the number of scholarships provided to its nationals by friendly countries e.g Turkey, Sudan, Egypt.
The people’s republic of China and neighbouring Ethiopia awarded Somali students to study in various universities in their country late last year but the
Republic of Turkey is the biggest donor as far as education scholarship for Somali university students is concerned.
