NAIROBO (Halbeeg News)- The president of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta has declared the end of a terrorist attack at Dusit D2 hotel in the capital Nairobi.
President Kenyatta who was addressing the nation on Wednesday morning confirmed the death of 14 people in the attack and the evacuation of over 700 people from the attacked complex.
The president also said that all attackers were also neutralized in the eight hours’ security operation at the hotel.
The Kenyan leader thanked the multi-security agencies and citizens in the social media for their courage during the heinous attack claimed by the armed group Al-shabab.
He said the event will not divide Kenyan citizens while vowing to bring those responsible as far as planning, financing and execution to book with the help from international partners.
President Kenyatta assured to visitors in his country that they are safe and secure while urging to go back to their normal daily work.
Security has been heightened across the country to pre-empt another possible terror threat.
