MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News)- Mogadishu local government has launched staff audit to curb ghost workers in the system and administration’s payroll.
The mayor of Mogadishu, Abdulrahman Omar Osman has announced the process and stated that his administration would speed the audit of the workers to come up with excellent service delivery to the public.
According to the governor, the exercise is meant to link the registration systems of the civil servants and Benadir administration to curb ghost workers.
He added that his administration in collaboration with the ministries of labour and finance are closely working together to ensure the success of the process by building the quality of the Banadir administration staff.
According to the mayor, this process will audit, registers and update information on all the workers of the Benadir administration that are on the payroll.
It will also enable the administration to know the workers that genuinely exist and provide services in their various areas of responsibilities.
This new method is also expected to upgrade the job group system and plan the welfare system of the staff including health assurance.
On his side, minister for labour, Salah Ahmed Jamac who was present during the start of the process has thanked Mogadishu mayor, Abdulrahman Omar Osman adding that the ministry of labour will cooperate with the municipality to improve the welfare.
