NAIROBI(Halbeeg-News)-The new ambassador of the federal government of Somalia to Kenya has presented his credentials in Nairobi on Wednesday.
Mohamud Ahmed Nur alias Tarsan was among seventeen envoys received by President Uhuru Kenyatta in state house, in Nairobi for approval.
Tarsan traveled to Nairobi on Tuesday to start his new diplomatic career in the neighboring country.
Tarsan was among the 2017 presidential candidate and a former mayor of Mogadishu was a senior advisor to President Farmajo before appointment to the new position.
He was among several new ambassadors approved by Somali cabinet on July.
His vast experience in public service sector in Somali government for years is set to inject new approach as far as the bilateral relationship between Nairobi and Mogadishu is concerned.
Diplomatic and trade relations between Somalia and Kenya has increased since opening of new Kenyan embassy in Mogadishu on July 2015.
Apart from diplomacy and trade the two states also closely co-operate on security sector on fight against armed group Alshabaab.
Kenyan troops are part of African Union peacekeeping troops in Somalia AMISOM since October 2011.
