NAIROBI (Halbeeg News)– Mogadishu Mayor, Abdirahman Omar Osman has held talks with U.S officials in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi on Friday.
Mr. Osman who is in Nairobi for duty trip has met with United States Ambassador to Somalia, Mr. Donald Yamamoto and the Chief of USAID, Jeffry Bakkan on Somalia.
The discussions of the officials focused on current developments within the region, efforts to resettle the displaced people, the challenges faced by the region, as well as the vision laid by his administration regarding the reconstruction and transformation of economic infrastructure.
US Ambassador has commended the administration of Banadir region for setting developmental plans and intending to realize their goals while pointing out how determined they are to play their role in the development, security and reviving the beauty of the City.
Both leaders also discussed ways of cooperation between the two nations that will help create employment opportunities for Somali youth and also the creation of area councils within the city of Mogadishu.
During his visit, the Mayor also met with Denmark Ambassador to Somalia, Mrs. Mette Knudsen with whom they discussed ways of intensifying her country`s support for Banadir Region, as well as extending their developmental projects, which they are currently implementing within the Region.
