In a statement dated 1st November, Ali Abdikadir Farah has been relieved of his duty over lack of commitment.
The state’s Interior Minister Mohamed Ali Adle has appointed Khadar Hassan Afrah as the new mayor of the town.
According to the statement, the new mayor will take the post with the effect the date issued the dismissal letter.
The latest sacking comes just days after Mr. Farah resisted dismissal by the governor of the region, sparking a standoff led Hirshabelle authorities to intervene in the situation.
According to reliable sources, the dismissed mayor and the governor of Hiiraan region, Yussuf Ahmed Hagar, were at loggerheads after Mr. Farah was accused of land graft.
Mr. Hagar who once served as a minister in Hirshabelle State has been carrying out reforms that led to the sacking of top officials in his administration since last month.
In September, Mr. Hagar was appointed to lead the central region for the third time since 2012.
