KISMAYU (Halbeeg News) – A delegation led by Somali National Army (SNA) chief Gen, Dahir Adan Elmi has arrived in Kismayu town, the administrative capital of Jubbaland State.
Gen. Elmi and his delegation were received at the airport by the leaders of Jubbaland state before they were escorted to the presidential palace of the state.
Speaking to the media on arrival, Gen. Elmi said his tour aims at inspecting the military bases of Somali army in the region.
“Today, I arrived in Kismayu town to inspect the military bases in Jubbaland state to know more about their situation,” he said.
The delegation later held a closed door meeting with the president of Jubbaland state, Ahmed Mohamed Madobe.
It has not yet being disclosed the issues discussed by the officials during the meeting.
Among the delegates is Ali Mohamed Mohamud, the commander of the 43rd battalion of SNA in Jubbaland who was deported from Kismayu in July over his appointment as the commander of 43rd Battalion.
Jubbaland authorities cited lack of consultation during the appointment of Mr. Mohamud.
