NAIROBI (Halbeeg News) – The Kenyan government says Hassan Hodey, is the mastermind of last week’s attack on Arabia Boys Secondary School in Mandera near Kenya’s border with Somalia.
Al-Shabaab took responsibility for the attack which claimed the lives of two non-local teachers.
Kenya Police spokesman Charles Owino said that intelligence reports had identified Hassan Hodey to be the person coordinated the attack on the school.
The man whom the police identified as Somali national was said to have crossed the border from neighbouring Damasa area.
“Security agencies are pursuing the culprit and will not relent till he is brought to justice,” Owino said.
Owino said security agencies are also on alert for any possible attack by the militants targeting security installations and any other soft targets along the border between Mandera and Elwak.
Last Wednesday, armed men killed two non-local teachers in a dawn attack.
They hacked the two teachers to death as they tried to escape.
They then hurled a grenade at the houses and the classrooms, setting them ablaze.
