BAIDOA (Halbeeg) – A military court in Southern Somalia’s town of Baidoa has on Friday sentenced a government soldier to death.
Adam Mukhtar Ahmed, the Chairman of Baidoa’s military court, said, constable Hassan Raghe Hassan proved to have deliberately killed a colleague identified as Ali Mohamed Boray in February in Bardale town.
Mr. Hassan killed the victim after a heated argument sparked between them, according to witnesses.
Witnesses said Mr. Hassan opened fired at late Boray, hitting him in the head several times.
“Having heard from the accused and the state prosecutor, I hereby sentence Constable Hassan Raghe Hassan who killed Ali Mohamed Boray in February, to death,” the military judge said in his ruling.
Meanwhile, the military court judge stressed that the defendant can pursue an appeal.
