JIGJIGA (Halbeeg News) – The embattled leader of Ethiopia’s Somali regional state has resigned from his post barely two days after hundreds of military soldiers took control of state’s capital Jigjiga.
Abdi Mohamud Omar who has been ruling the region since 2005 has stepped down as negotiations with the Federal government of Ethiopia, according to Addis Ababa Standard, Addis Ababa based websites.
Sources say new leader identified as Ahmed Abdi Mohamed has been appointed to the outgoing leader.
