GAROWE (Halbeeg) – Top bosses at the Puntland Public Service Commission have been sent packing in a bid to clean the agency of corruption.
This follows the release of the findings of an inquiry team set up by Puntland Assembly
The team put the leaders of the agency in the dock over mismanagement of funds and other ills.
Puntland Assembly ordered the investigation last week following accusations of rampant corruption, mismanagement and nepotism at the agency.
According to lawmakers who spoke to the media, the head of Puntland Public Service Commission, Mustafa Saeed Shaba’a and his deputy Jama’a Hirsi Farah were among officials relieved off their duties.
In a statement, Puntland Labour Ministry said the move is aimed at ridding the agency of corruption.
“We are on top of things… We will dismantle all of them including those involved in corruption,” the statement reads.
