Somali National Under-17 team has secured a place in the semi-final of the ongoing Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (Cecafa) league in Burundi after beating their neighbouring Kenyan team with 1-0 on Friday.
The match was staged at Muyinga Stadium in Group A Matchup.
The surprise Victory gave Somalia a chance to lead group A which consist of Kenya, Burundi and Ethiopia.
Farhan Duqoq has signed the goal for Somalia following a well charted up line-up thanks to the coach.
Despite the lose, the young Harambee stars also remain the second position in the group with 4 points but with big goal difference over Burundi team who have same points with them.
Burundi has also beaten Ethiopian team with 1-0 on Friday in the hotly contested group A match.
Somalia will be having their semi-final match with the winner of the match between Sudan and Tanzania whereas Kenya’s Harambee stars will face Uganda.
Tanzania is a head of the Sudan team with a single point which could see Tanzania to be winner if the upcoming match ends draw with no goals.
Uganda has already moved to the semi-final, resting in the Waiting room with young Somali heroes after its (Uganda) team defeated Sudan with a 3-0 last Wednesday, securing her seven points to lead Group B.
