Somali National Army officers completed a three months training course conducted in Mogadishu.
The training which was attended by 200 Presidential guard officers from the 60th Battalion covered knowledge and skills on ethics and responsibility, means to guard the presidential Palace, tactical maneuvers and code of conduct.
Speaking at the clossing ceremony, Somali National Army chief, Abfiweli Jama’a Warsame commended the National Army instructors.
“I take this opportunity to applaud the training commanders for their commitments and dedications to train Somali Soldiers,” said Warsame.
The chief called on the new officers to abide by the law and interact with the public.
The commander of the 60th battalion, Odawaa Yussuf Raage who also attended the ceremony said the officer will be posted at Villa Somalia.
“The new officers will be reinforcing the presidential guards and will be responsible for the security of the palace,” he said.
The pass-out ceremony was attended by senior military officers and commanders from Somali National Army (SNA), government officials and the deputy director of the Presidential Palace, Amina Said Ali.
