MOGADISHU ( HALBEEG NEWS) – Somali security agencies have concluded al Shabaab attack on popular beach hotel in Mogadishu on Sunday.
According to police sources, at least 16 were killed and more than 28 others were wounded during the assault.
The Spokesman of the police captain Sadik Adan all four attackers was killed during the security operations but twelve people including two senior government officials unfortunately lost their lives.
The security agencies also managed to rescue more than 200 people who trapped inside during the attack.
Armed group al Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack saying it was a favorite destination for senior federal government officials.
Meanwhile, the owner of the Elite hotel who is a member of parliament Abdullahi Mohamed Nur has vowed to rebuild the facility saying the attack will not stop him from continuing his investment in the country.
“I have invested in my country for the last couple of years a million dollars and created hundreds of jobs. I believe it was the right thing to do and I will never give up due to such heinous terrorist attacks, and I am committed to investing more for the coming years.” Mr. Mohamed Nur tweeted a few hours after the attack.
