MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali state Minister for Foreign, Abdulkadir Ahmed-Kheyr Abdi on Sunday received credential letters from Sudan ambassador to Somalia.
Khalafallah Mustafa Babakar was recently appointed to lead Sudanese mission in Somalia.
Minister Abdulkadir has received the new ambassador at his office in Mogadishu where they discussed the bilateral relations of the two countries.
Mr Abdulkadir praised the newly appointed ambassador and hopes that he will improve the relations between Somalia and his country.
On his part, Sudan’s ambassador to Somalia has expressed his gratitude for the way he was welcomed and expressed his affection and emphasised that it would be a tremendous effort to improve the friendship between Sudan and Somalia to a very high level.
The ambassador pledged that his government will continue supporting in peace rebuilding process and implement development projects in Somalia.
The arrival of the ambassador comes a week after 124 students who were awarded scholarships from the government of Sudan to jetted off to Khartoum.
More than 2000 Somali students are now pursuing different faculties in different universities in Sudan and most of them are said to have been offered scholarships.
