At least 11 Somali migrants evacuated from Libya on Saturday arrived in Mogadishu after Somali government sent assessment delegates to Libya.
The migrants have reportedly accepted to return the country voluntarily following discussions with delegates from Somalia.
The country’s Special Envoy for Migrants and Children’s Rights, Mariam Yassin who was leading the delegates who reached Libya said the migrants that were returned to the country today have suffered injuries when they were in the hands of Libyan militias who held them for ransom.
The delegates held talks with migrants at camps and Somali embassy in Tripoli town to pave the way for their repatriation.
Officials said about 11 migrants accepted to go back to Somalia.

Following last year’s footage showing African migrants in Libya being auctioned as slave has forced several countries including Somalia to start bringing home their nationals.
CNN’s report in November, showed smugglers in auction centres in Libyan capital, Tripoli selling migrants each going for $400 and $800.
Somali president, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo directed his foriegn Minister, Yussuf Garad to immediately facilitate the repatriation of Somali migrants.
